I will join the CSE department, UT Arlington as assistant professor 2020 fall. I am looking for self motived Ph.D. students to be supported by my funding and Ph.D. students/Postdoc Fellows supported by CSC scholarship. The research project will focus on developing machine learning/deep learning methods for fundamental computer vision problems including object detection, motion tracking, object segmentation, markerless 3D nonrigid motion capture /reconstruction, image classification, and image captioning using 2D/3D/4D images including RGBD images, multiple sensors (wifi, radar), 3D CT/MRI medical images, and biomedical text. I am currently a staff scientist working with Senior Investigator and staff clinician Dr. Ronald M. Summers in the Clinical Center, National Institutes of Health. I was a postdoc fellow in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the School of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, under the mentorship of Prof. Mert R. Sabuncu. I also working with Prof. Guorong Wu in UNC-Chapel Hill as a postdoc fellow. I graduated from the University of Queensland, Australia. My Ph.D. thesis advisor is Professor Simon Lucey, a research associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.
